Category Archives: woodfired

While I was in college I was first introduced to woodfiring, and I immediately became captivated by the process and history. Having only ever been around forced air high-fire gas kilns that sound like an enormous blowtorch when fired, it was surprising how quiet wood kilns are when they are “on”. Firing wood kilns is like shaking hands with our ancestors.
